SGaang Gwaay World Heritage Site

This has been our ‘tried and true’ trip for over twenty years. As with our five day trip, we visit all of the main ancient Haida village sites including the World Heritage Site of SGang Gwaay. The sixth day gives us more time for paddling and exploring the more remote and spectacular areas of the park reserve. Weather and logistics permitting, we stop at Rose Harbour for a feast that you will not forget. Each trip begins or ends with a spectacular Inland Air Charters sightseeing flight over Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve.

Custom Tours
Bring us a group and an idea and we’ll try to make it happen.

US$ rate
Due to daily fluctuations in the exchange rate for US currency the “Total  Cost” in US dollars will be adjusted to reflect the actual rate of exchange at the time of booking.

Fuel Surcharge
The fluctuating cost of fuel is obviously a concern. In an ongoing effort to keep the cost of our trips as reasonable as possible we have chosen not to apply the ubiquitous “fuel surcharge” but to keep as a possibility, recovering direct fuel cost increases through a second invoice if the cost of fuel increases beyond $1.50 per litre. For every .10 per litre increase in the cost of marine diesel fuel at Queen Charlotte City expect a $15.00 per person surcharge to offset the additional cost of not only marine diesel but also aviation gas and cost increases passed on from all other suppliers.

Reservations
A $700.00 (CDN$ or US$) deposit is required to confirm your reservation with balance of payment due 90 days prior to departure date.

Payment
Payment can be made by cheque from a Canadian or an American bank or with an international money order in Canadian funds.

Information Package
After your booking is confirmed, you'll receive a pdf package with information pertinent to your trip. This includes a list of stuff to bring, registration form and other trip planning resources. It also includes the ubiquitous 'liability release' which must be read, signed and returned prior to the trip.

Cancellations
Written notice of cancellation must be received. The following charges will apply:

  • More than 90 days prior to departure date: 50% of deposit
  • 90 - 45 days prior to departure date: 50% of the total amount payable
  • Less than 45 days prior to departure date: 100% of the total amount payable

Because of the small numbers involved in each trip (six maximum, usually four or five), a cancellation may put the trip in jeopardy for the remainder of the group. In fairness to all participants, no refunds can be provided if cancellation occurs within 45 days of trip departure. Having said that, we will make every attempt to fill your reserved space. If successful, 85% of the total amount payable will be refunded.
